Private orthopaedic specialist in South Tyrol

Knee pain, a sports injury or the question of whether surgery is really necessary: a thorough orthopaedic assessment brings clarity. At the AGON joint practice in Sterzing, Dr. Christian Coppola, specialist in orthopaedics and traumatology, offers private orthopaedic consultations – for patients from the Wipptal and all over South Tyrol.

His focus is sports orthopaedics and knee surgery. As team doctor for Ski Austria he brings experience from elite alpine skiing – and at AGON he works closely with physiotherapy, training and nutrition counselling.

Consultation & second opinion

Initial and follow-up consultations for acute and chronic musculoskeletal complaints, as well as a qualified second opinion before surgery.

Understanding your findings

Dr. Coppola assesses your X-ray, MRI and CT images, interprets radiology reports and discusses conservative and surgical treatment options with you.

Conservative or surgical?

Not every injury needs surgery. Together with you, Dr. Coppola weighs up whether conservative, joint-preserving treatment – for example physiotherapy, training or injections such as PRP/ACP and hyaluronic acid – is sufficient or whether surgery makes sense.

If surgery is needed, he takes care of planning, check-ups and aftercare in close coordination with our physio team.
