Nutrition therapy in Sterzing

Many medical conditions can be positively influenced by the right diet – sometimes nutrition is even a key part of the treatment. Nutrition therapy translates medical findings into a concrete, practical eating plan that suits you, your body and your life.

At the AGON joint practice in Sterzing, registered dietitian Jasmin Steckholzer supports you with an evidence-based approach and no extreme restrictions: from reviewing your medical reports and individual counselling to progress monitoring – in person and, on request, online.

Oncology nutrition therapy

Before, during and after cancer treatment, the body needs special support. Together we ease side effects such as loss of appetite, taste changes or unintended weight loss and ensure a targeted nutrient supply that supports your strength and immune system.

With her experience in oncological rehabilitation, Jasmin Steckholzer also provides sensitive, expert support during follow-up care.

Frequently asked questions about nutrition therapy

What is the difference between nutrition counselling and nutrition therapy?

Nutrition counselling is aimed at healthy people who want to optimise their diet – for example in sports or for prevention. Nutrition therapy is used for existing medical conditions such as diabetes, thyroid or bowel disorders and is based on your medical findings.

What does a dietitian do?

Dietitians complete a dedicated degree in dietetics and are specifically trained to provide evidence-based nutrition therapy for medical conditions. Jasmin Steckholzer earned her degree in Dietetics in Bad Gleichenberg (Austria) and regularly completes further training.

What should I bring to my first consultation?

Recent blood test results, medical diagnoses, a list of your medication and – if available – a short food diary of the last few days are helpful. Together we review your findings and define your goals.

Can I have a consultation online?

Yes. Consultations can take place in person at our practice in Sterzing or online – follow-up sessions in particular work very well online. The BIA measurement takes place at the practice.
